Thank you for pancake day and donations!

To all friends and colleagues who came along to pancake. Thank you very much.

Special thanks to everybody from Innovation Warehouse for their help and support and for providing a venue.

We are looking for a sponsor to match the £285 donations we collected from selling crepes.

Next fundraising events are scheduled for the second week in march in Sofia, Pleven and Varna.

We will aim to upload the pictures from the 21st ASAP.

First ever EVM fundraising event @innovation warehouse

Celebrate pancake day and help the European velo marathon for road peace happen

When? 21 February 2012
What time? 7:30pm-9:30pm
Earlier arrival will ensure you load on pancakes!
Where? 1 East Poultry avenue, London EC1A 9PT
Purpose: CELEBRATE CYCLING AND PANCAKE DAY :)
The fundraiser is organised by Kate Belcheva, who is also putting together the EVM
About EVM: The European velo marathon for road peace will start in Bulgaria in June and end in London in July 2012.
The international team of people passionate about cycling will be lead by Kate's father - Mladen Belchev - a passionate cyclist himself and the inspiration for EVM. Mladen suffered a road accident last year. Despite his disability Kate's dad and a group of keen cyclists including her and her 2 brothers will cycle the 4000km from Bulgaria to the opening of the Olympics on a mission to inspire safer roads by encouraging more cycling!

Last Updates - EVM 2012 is the Alternative Olympic Torch Relay for road peace

The European Velo Marathon 2012 - the alternative Olympic Torch Relay for Road Peace. It aims to unite Europe in in improving cycle safety and to encourage more people to travel by bycicle. The relay is being led by Mladen Belchev from Bulgaria who nearly died in a cycling accident in his home town recently. Despite his injuries Mladen is under taking a 2500 mile marathon from Pleven, Bulgaria to the Olympic stadium in London. He is looking for other cyclists who have been affected by road traffic accidents to join the relay and help carry the alternative olympic torch to the 2012 stadium. The marathon will start on June 23, 2012, the International day of the Olympics from Bulgaria and will finish in London, UK on July 27, 2012, when the official opening of the Olympic Games in London will happen. The aim is to cycle the 3000km from Pleven, visit the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne, Switzerland and arrive safely for the opening of the Olympic Games. We also aim to promote actively road peace and supporting local causes along the way. We are looking for collaborators all around Europe. We invite organisations and individuals to join the EVM 2012 by organizing their own EVMs by using the rest of the EURO VELO routes and meet us in Lausanne, Switzerland.
